Gaius knew it was flattery, still, he was more than willing to sip from that cup.
Perfect man? Goodness. That was straight to the point.
"Only one of the few perfect men?" He gasped, a hand placed on his chest in mock frustration and then it moved to his forehead in pretend exasperation. Yet the specialities was the reason why he had come. Something could always be said for experience. Gaius had many intimate encounters over the years. But eight hours? Gaius raised his eyebrows, and had to question the validity of that. There is a chance that they were doing other things rather than the act itself. Despite the knowledge of how the body worked and functioned. Gaius was absolutely willing to give into exaggeration. And, like any good courtesan, she back it up with a challenge. Gaius tilted his head backwards and chuckled in amusement. While he was aware of it... he was certainly willing to buy into it.
"Eight hours?! Were you attempting to kill the poor old bastard?" Gaius exclaimed. No doubt he would sleep for twelve hours if he ever managed to wake up after spending time with her time that. Like a moth to the flame, he was all too willing to take her up on that challenge. His virtus depended on it!
"I guess I will have to try, and should I fail?" Gaius asked then shrugged. "I guess I will have to try again, and again til I get it right."
Gaius absolutely had to agree concerning Aulus' age. His stepmother would be blessed to think he had enough tact not to mention it right away.
He scoffed at the mention of fewer opportunities for bloodshed in the races. Gaius had seen plenty of charioteers use their whip on each other or use underhanded methods to see each other harmed. Anything in order to win. "If there isn't a lot of blood they aren't doing it right." Gaius answered. He took a large mouthful of wine before he swallowed the liquid. He hated these sorts of connections made like this. Gaius preferred the connections made through warfare, or at least through military life. The city of Rome only brought out his negative traits. He should mention the invitation that his mother routinely pressured him to extend to other noble families of Rome.Gaius could just imagine her unapproving look while he wasted time.
"My step-mother also offers her greetings," Gaius said. His step-mother was known as a social butterfly although it was difficult to say how Aulus or his family viewed her. "And no doubt wants to catch up with you and yours sometime." He added with the hint of a dismissive sigh. How much Aulus Calpurnius Praetextatus and Julia Babila knew each other was up to debate.
Would this ever end?!
Gaius had only been half listening to the proceedings. He knew that his mother would probably want to know everything about what had been happening. Who suggested what, who had been hostile to someone else, and more. He leaned against a pillar, yawned and said nothing.
Gaius bobbed his head in understanding, and hoped he would remember her name by the time it was over. He raised his eyebrow and let out a rude snort when she wanted to take a moment to think of her specialities. Then she began to lean forward, he smirked and leaned forward to listen. Gaius' eyes dipped downwards to rest on the curves of her cleavage when she began to share her other skills. He had to admit that he was incredibly disappointed, grumbled to himself and knew many customers would have enjoyed the experience of a courtesan. Many would have appreciated her skill with the cithara. Unfortunately, Gaius did not and was rather put out by the thought of having to pay to find out.
"Clearly I am, Vibia," He winked back at her, and grinned boyishly at her. Already he was drawn in by her beautiful face and figure, loved the sight of her body and reached out to take her hand in his. "I am no pleb. I am more than afford your fee. I am merely asking what specialities you have of the intimate nature," He grinned, took a mouthful of the wine and gulped it down. Gaius clicked his fingers for the servants to bring the pair of them more wine. He did not bother to look to see if they were actually going to bring it to him or not.
"So, your sexual specialities?" Gaius asked. He had indulged in a range of pleasures, some were more exciting than others, and all the participants were beautiful. The Gods created beauty for a reason. For a moment, he tried to think of something witty to say and could not think of anything to add.
Gaius' massive ego grew to the size of a small sun.
And it was already incredibly large to begin with.
With a groan he walked along on his elbows towards her, rolled onto his back and grinned. "Spontaneous? Don't you mean daring, brave and filled with manly virtue?" He asked. Gaius was no above praising himself, and many could blame these boastings on being drunk. Gaius, however, just loved to praise himself continuously. He grinned wide at the mention of stamina and certainly hoped he had more than that grey-haired old fool.
"Of course I do!" Gaius exclaimed, laughed and grinned. He could not remember what her specialities were when he was told them or perhaps it was just when he heard that she was new to the establishment. Naturally, he had to sample every single beauty who walked through the doors.
"So, Justinia, what may I ask are your specialities?" Gaius asked. There were some prostitutes who specialised solely in oral sex with one of them even referred to as. 'The Mouth'. While others had an array of different skills, specialities, and gifts to seduce their clients with.
Gaius wanted to go back to the legions. The lack of fortune of choosing the wrong side had reduced the amount of prowess and connections. It was not entirely undeserved considering that he would have preferred to sleep than to spend time in any meeting of the Senate. His step-mother's frequent hinting, nagging and urges continued to try to push him to do better.
"Blessed with the vigour of the Gods, and yourself?" He asked, in an ever-so-humble manner. Normally his mother would have accompanied him or his sister, or his half-brother who would come along. He noticed the family, and it was the perfect way for him to avoid the conversation if he wished for it to end. The Games were more to his taste. The Racing was entertaining yet Gaius preferred the sight of the blood and injuries. Even though they were a common enough event in the races.
"Ah, nah," He answered with a shrug and settled down. "I prefer the games myself. Boy! Wine!" Gaius called out and sipped some wine. "Oh fuck, would you like some?" Gaius asked. There was a chance he may have spend a little too much time in the legions.
Gaius wholeheartedly believed that all the workers at the Domus Venus would have been all too happy to spend time with him. Vibia was beautiful, her clothing only highlighted her features and those blue eyes of hers. His gaze lingered a little too long on her cleavage before it moved back up to meet her eyes. Clearly she was one of quality. He wondered what spirit must have possessed him in order to walk past her and choose another on several nights.
"There is plenty you can get for me," He murmured, subconsciously bit his lip and knew what he wanted. Her second question made his gaze move around to the hallways of the Domus Venus at any other potentials. There were several that he had purchased their time previously, a couple, he had become a repeat customer to them.
"I would like to enjoy your company this evening," Gaius said, it was one thing to purchase solely for an intimate encounter. Yet with the amount of coin he was going to spend or rather, the coin his body slave would pass along to the Madame. Near the military camps and other more lowly establishments, the intimate encounters were incredibly different. These were primarily courtesans rather than prostitutes, and several of them had their own particular talents and specialities. Not all of them were intimate or related to being incredibly flexible either.
"So, who are you? And most importantly, what are your specialities?" He asked.
There were many things he was supposed to be doing.
Gaius had one ambition and that was to taste all the fruits of the Domus Venus. It did not take him long to arrive in the location necessary. He had lost count of the amount of times he had made the trek to the venue, walked through the doors and soon caught sight of the beauties that surrounded him. It made him feel alive, and temporarily he could forget the obligations he had towards the state and to his nagging stepmother. His eyes lit up brightly as he walked through. Dancers, performers, and people performing intimate acts surrounded him. This must have been how the Gods on Mount Olympus felt. He looked at one large breasted woman as she walked past, garbed in transparent silk that only highlighted the curves of her body and was soon distracted by another.
In the past, he had heard her name spoken and did not particularly know her. It did not take him long to have wine provided for him and he casually held the goblet in his hand. Finally, he found her. She was reclining on a sofa and flirting with a Senator. He could not recall his name at the moment, but had a nagging feeling that he knew his stepmother. A wicked smirk appeared on his face and walked towards them both. Reclined beside them on his stomach, rested his clean-shaven chin on the palms of his hands and smiled. The other potential client looked shocked, then uncomfortable and it did not take long for him to stutter an excuse before he left.
"You must be Justinia," Gaius said, and not without a hint of smugness to his voice. Slowly he rolled onto his back with his arms folded behind his head with a cocky grin. "I promise," He added, reached out the goblet for her to hold and let it go. If she took it, she took it... if not... "I will make it up to you, and I can assure you that business would be more pleasurable with me than what it would have been with him."
