Walking In Moonlight [M][S]

Oriana was stressed, to say the least. She was always writing, always planning, always doing something. Though she enjoyed being busy, sometimes it was overwhelming. Luckily for the woman, she worked well under stress. She had a meeting at midnight with a man in the Red Light district who claimed to know something about a man that she needed to deal with. The last time she went there she had a not-so-friendly encounter with an asshole, and that was why she fired her last guard. He did absolutely nothing, though she had handled the situation in her own way. Her new guard, Alexius, would be tested this time to see if he was actually good enough. She didn't doubt it, but she also hoped nothing bad would come from tonight. It made her a bit more paranoid every time she made an enemy.

She gave him directions before they left: stay by her side in the streets, but at the meeting place, have a small amount of distance unless ordered to be close. Things could go bad quickly, and in a moment's notice she could die, but she would rather not get killed if she was being honest. She threw on some dark, peasant clothes and a new, blonde wig that she bought. She hated people insulting her wigs after the last incident.

The woman walked down the street, looking down at the piece of paper that had the address. It was always dangerous to be a woman out alone on the streets, especially in this part of town, so she was glad to have Alexius. "The client should be only a couple blocks away," she said to Alexius. The moon was almost at the height of the sky. The air was crisp, as the complete warmth of mid-spring hadn't kicked in yet. Oriana got a chill on her back. She hoped things would go alright.

When she got to the home, the flat was more than small. It was almost shack size, and the front of it was filthy. She hated the dirtiness of peasants. She knocked, looking over at Alexius and nodding. "Stay close to me. I'm not sure how I feel about this one."

It was nice to have a good and proper bed to sleep in and good food every day. The slaves of the household were obedient, but also nice and hadn’t been so bad towards Alexius either. It was over ten years since he was freed now, so he didn’t care to tell about his past as a slave and it didn’t matter so much anyway… at least not to anyone but Alexius himself. Oriana didn’t seem to worry about his past story either, so he just did his job. Remained close to her when ordered to do so. He would stay near her office when she worked, when she had visitors and so on. And when she went to sleep, he made sure to check her room first and he slept in the room just next to hers, so it was easy to stay alert. His past had made him an easy sleeper, so he woke fast, if he had to.

Tonight though, she was not going to bed early. No, she had a meeting, at midnight, in the poorer area of Rome. Alexius had been here many times before and he also once had friends in this area of Rome. That was a long time ago though. The place he mostly visited in this part of Rome now, as Bellona’s tavern, where he still felt at home. Right now though, his focus was Oriana and her wellbeing. Honestly he thought she worked herself a little too hard, especially for a woman, but who was he to tell her what to do? He was just her guard, enjoying the sight as he always followed two paces behind her while walking in Rome.

She told him her client was close by, now and seemed slow down. It wasn’t the warmest spring night ever, but it was fine, Alexius thought. His woolen cloak kept him warm and underneath it, he was properly clad in clothes that would protect his vital parts in a fight. And he had his blade, of course, should it be needed, but his fists worked fine too. Oriana now stopped in front of a door to a small shack-like flat.

“I won’t leave your side unless it comes from you, Oriana.” He was slowly getting used to calling her by her first name, as she wanted him to, “Lead the way. I’m alert, as always.” He added, staying right behind her while they waited for the door to open. He didn’t trust the place either – the place wasn’t clean and the shack was hidden from the moonlight by other and taller buildings around it. Dark corners were useful to people with ill intentions. He’d most definitely stay alert here.

The flat was dimly lit and away from the normal roads. She usually met people in popinas, in public, so nobody could try anything stupid. She had her fair share of stupid people though. The messenger that was sent by this person said that they were a recluse and was only friends with the man she was looking for. Because of this, she would need to visit the house herself. The man even said he would take a discount because of this, so she gladly accepted the lesser pay that he would get. Still, she had a strange feeling, but she was not about to pass up an important opportunity. When nobody answered the door, she knocked again. It was to no avail.

She looked over at Alexius. Oriana's strange feeling turned worse when nobody answered the door. Something was off. Usually her clients opened the door without a doubt, expecting her. The fact that it took so long to answer the door was a big red flag to her. "I have a feeling we're not getting the person we actually need." She said, completely turning around from the door. It was too dark to see shadowy corners. When two men came out of the corners, her suspicion was correct. They both were dressed in black and had blades.

She took a long sigh, not even slightly amused. "Hello gentlemen," she said. "Are we robbing me or murdering me? Or both?" She said with an eyebrow raised. It wasn't the first time it's happened, and it was apparent to see that. Neither of them answered her. She crossed her arms. They were blocking both sides of the street, their only exit, and slowly closing in. "Now would be a good time to show off the skills that you proudly bragged about." She said towards Alexius. She hoped he wouldn't die, she was starting to enjoy her new guard's company.

Alexius had no idea what she was dealing with. He was not much of a business man – he learned that during his time working as a lanista, overseeing the ludus. At least he learned how to read and write, but paperwork and strange dealings were not his things. He was a man of action, he didn’t want to just talk, he wanted things to happen. Not that it meant he wanted his mistress here to be attacked, just so he could get his action, but doing nothing was not good for him either. Having something to do and someone to protect worked for him – no matter why she needed the protection.

He definitely didn’t trust this situation or the place they were at. She knocked at the door again, but nothing seemed to happen. When she looked over her shoulder at Alexius, he nodded at her words, “We need to leave.” Alexius only just managed to say, before two darkly dressed men came out of the shadows. What the fuck did this lady do?

She tried to sound witty, but didn’t seemed afraid at all. No, Oriana just crossed her arms and expected Alexius to do his job.

“You think so?” Alexius said and a small smile crossed his lips, “As you wish…” This was not the arena, but he’d worked as a bodyguard and guard for many years now and he knew what it was about. They seemed to want to kill her, “Lean against the wall of the house.” Alexius then told her, that way they couldn’t attack her from the back. He pushed back his cloak and fetched his own blade, knowing he might only get to use it once, but then he had to make it count. The two attackers gave each other a look and then both went for Alexius at the same time. He ducked under the arm of one, coming up on his backside and managed to stab him in the side. The man let out a wail, but Alexius didn’t pause. The other man was at him too and Alexius shot a quick glance at Oriana, luckily she was still unharmed, and then he tried to kick at the other attacker’s legs to tackle him and get him on the ground. The first, the one he stabbed, was still on his feet though and when Alexius was able to, he punched the guy right in the wound.

That got him down. Right, one down, one to go. The question was whether he should kill the man now or grab Oriana and run… they were already at each other again though and Alexius punched his face, although he got one punch right back at his shoulder and noticed a raised blade. He wished he knew what Oriana wanted to do, but he could not read her mind… he had to make sure she stayed put so she’d not get in trouble if she left, “Don’t run without me, Oriana!”

Oriana listened to him and leaned against the wall of the house. At least it was an entertaining night, a lot better than talking about boring things. The auburn-haired woman was excited to watch Alexius in action. If she was honest, his skills would go to waste when he was just standing there watching her do paperwork. Most of the time, it was a boring job. But when things like this happened, it was exciting and eventful. Just like when she went to the Colosseum once in a blue moon.

When Alexius started to fight, a smile brewed on her lips. He was good without a doubt, and she wondered where he got his training from. They weren't going to kill Alexius, no, rather try to pretend to kill him. Was she crazy? Maybe just a little. But she was smart, and things like this happened all the time in her line of work. The story she made up was all a lie about the home that she had to go to. It was away from guards. She bet on these thugs that they couldn't beat her bodyguard--if she lost, she would have to pay both of them a large sum of money. But if she won, she would get double her money back.

She wasn't planning on running at all, but it was smart for Alexius to say that. He was smarter than she believed he lead on. "No, I'll stay put, just like you said." She yelled back to him, watching the fight. The thugs knew that they might die, but the money, for them, was too good to pass up. Little did they know she had a lot of faith in Alexius and his fighting skills. "You're doing great," she said, being genuine about it.

While fighting, he had brief moments to wonder exactly what his mistress dealt with, that meant she’d be attacked like this in the middle of the night. And why here, in the poorest district of Rome… when she was a wealthy noblewoman? It was all very shady, but he was paid for doing what he did right now, which was protect her with his life if he had to. With his current outlook on life, he would be prepared to die for her, if that’s the way it went. But Alexius was used to surviving and he was just not bad enough at fighting to lose. No, he knew what he was doing.

Meanwhile his mistress stood somewhere by the house, watching the fight, but he didn’t see the smile on her face and he didn’t know her true intentions with this fight. But it might just be very close to his gladiator days – he was fighting for coin, he just didn’t know it this time. Alexius thought this was the real deal.

When he told her to not run, she yelled she’d stay put, while Alexius wrestled with the other man. He’d managed to knock the man’s blade out of the hand and now Alexius was trying to get the man on the ground. He landed behind the thug and finally had an arm around the man’s throat. He pulled at the man’s neck and shoulder with one arm, while pushing with his lower body and eventually, they fell… Alexius landed on his back with the other man on top of him. Quickly they rolled around though. Oh this one was a skilled fighter too! It felt good to fight, the adrenaline had long since kicked in and Alexius was simply doing what he’d been trained to do for most of his life.

He barely heard it when Oriana said he was doing great, for suddenly places switched again and Alexius was on his back with the other man straddling him. He evaded the first punch at his face, but the second hit got him and he could taste blood. Yet while the thug was busy beating him up, Alexius reached for a blade he’d spotted on the ground. It happened fast after that. One moment the guy prepared to punch him again, the next the other had a knife stuck through his throat from the front. Alexius got a bloodbath before he managed to push the other off and slide away. He sat there, knees bent in front of him, inhaled a deep breath and then he looked up at his mistress. His face and upper chest was covered in the blood of his opponent and there was a rare fire burning in his eyes. He wasn't really angry - he'd enjoyed this fight - but he was almost feeling high.

“What the fuck is it you do for a living?!” He asked before he could stop himself, that came out wrong, didn't it? He inhaled another breath, attempting to cool down and behave, which wasn’t all that easy right now, with the adrenaline still rushing through his body… “… Oriana?”

Oriana met many men who were cocky about their skills. Most of them were all talk, and when it came to action, they were cowards. But Alexius was different, and the way he fought made her proud that she hired him. In real situations, and as far as he knew this was a real one, he would fare well. Maybe it was wrong for her to hire thugs to test out his skills, but she'd rather see how he would do now than in the actual heat of a fight. Besides, she made an enemy recently and she couldn't shake the feeling that he might come back for revenge. She was out to get him as well, so she could only have the best of the best.

When he was finished, he was bloodied up but not beaten badly. To her, it only seemed like a couple of scratches and bruises. She stopped leaning on the wall and walked onto the street. "I'm impressed." She said with an eyebrow raised and a smile. When he asked her what she did for a living, she laughed. "This happens more often than not. I have a lot of leverage over people because I collect secrets, so a lot of people want to kill me. This time, unfortunately, I hired those thugs." She reached into her cloak and got out a small bag of money.

"I'm sorry, I had to see how well you would do. I normally don't keep secrets from my guards, but I have to see if you're worth my time and money. Which, if I had to say, you're the cleanest guard I've ever had come out of a fight." She was being honest about it. She then tossed him the bag of money. "Your bonus for the trouble tonight. We can clean you up in no time. This is a very real scenario that will happen, so it was best to break you in now than later when real trouble will brew up." She hoped he wasn't too mad at her. Sometimes, that's just how things had to be.

He was not really angry, just suddenly extremely curious about what the fuck his new mistress did for a living! He had worked as an escort and guard for a good many years now, but usually it was pretty calm and the few times he got to fight, it was because a band of roadside robbers attacked the caravan or something like it. This was something else. It was an actual fight and his mistress had just stood back and let him do his job. Well it would be bad if he didn’t, but… what the actual fuck?

Alexius still wasn’t on his feet, when Oriana approached him and said she was impressed. She spoke of collecting secrets and that’s why people wanted to kill her. And then she said she hired the thugs he just killed. What? She hired them! And they fought and now they were dead and she fucking hired them? She tossed him a bag of money while apologizing for keeping secrets from him. He was still speechless about how she hired them and let him kill them… there was no way he’d remain speechless for long though… he wasn't angry before, but now?

“You think I need to be broken in?!” He asked, getting on his feet, his temper getting the best of him, “You didn’t think I could protect you? You hired me, but you didn’t trust I could do my job?!” He inhaled a breath and instead of hitting her, his fist hit a wall. He was bleeding already, so what did it matter anyway? He didn’t even blink.

Then he turned to look at her again… no, he was far from done with this rant, “Why would I lie to you about my skills? I have nothing to lose and yet you doubted me… and you choose to tell me after you set me up? I’m no slave yet I would have died for you. If you want a loyal guard, Domina, you better learn to trust me.”

Oriana knew Alexius had every reason to be mad. She wanted to feel bad, but she didn't. Very little could make her feel regretful, and this wasn't even close. Maybe if it was a real fight and he actually got injured, but that was his job. She doubted everyone at first. The last guard she took with her did absolutely nothings and the client almost snapped her neck. If it wasn't for some blind luck, she'd be dead. Every other guard hadn't worked out at all, and they were all not fit for this job. And though she didn't doubt Alexius, she had to make sure he was as good as she thought he was.

She crossed her arms, hearing what he had to say. He even hit his fist against the wall, which she didn't expect. He had a temper, she was sure of that. He won, and she wasn't sure why he was so upset. She didn't feel the need to explain herself either. Maybe it was the lifestyle she was accustomed to to treat people this way, or maybe it was just her. Either way, she had no remorse.

She listened to his rant and raised an eyebrow. Though she didn't feel the need to explain herself, she was going to anyways despite how pointless it might seem. "The last guard I hired did nothing when a client was about to snap my neck. If it wasn't for the cohort showing up, I would be dead." Her tone was solemn. "As angry as you are at me, I always have my reasons for doing what I need to do. The last guard I hired didn't protect me, so I needed to know. I don't know you. For all I know, you could've been a con artist or someone that didn't have any skills. As much as I hate to admit it, people lie. And when you're paying as much as I am, many people lie." Her lips pursed. She was getting defensive of her own actions, and in her mind, she did nothing wrong.

"If you want to leave, I am not stopping you. Being prepared for what is to come is better than going in blindly. They weren't going to kill you, but next time, others might." She tore off a large piece of her cloak and split it into two. It was a peasant's cloak, so she didn't care if it was damaged. "Use this to stop the bleeding on your face. If you wish, you may have the day off tomorrow." She didn't know why she offered him that. She liked her guards to be happy so they would do a good job. It worked, and Alexius did his job well. Though she knew it would be better off unspoken if she didn't say she bet on him winning.

He couldn’t know how it had been with former guards and he didn’t care. He was her guard now, he’d sworn to be loyal and to protect her and since that’s what he was paid to do and his life had no other purpose at the moment… why should he want to mess up? Not to mention that he enjoyed a good fight, so of course he’d go all in and end up covered with blood, if that’s what it took. At least she said she was impressed, but she set him up! Was this all a joke to her? Did it amuse her to have ordinary folk risk their lives for her?

Alexius watched how she crossed her arms, as if she had a say… well, maybe she did, he was just a pair of hired hands, but still… then she said her last guard didn’t do anything and she could have been killed, so she had to know if Alexius would act the same way. A con artist? No skills?

“Well I hope now you know that I do not lie. I have no reason to. I’d not take this job if I couldn’t carry it out.” He snapped back at her, before she said he could leave if he wanted to. Then said these would not have killed him and she gave him a piece of her cloak to clean himself with.

“They weren’t going to kill me, but you let me kill them?” What a waste… he took the piece of cloth she handed to him. So a bag of money and cloth to clean himself with, that’s what he got… he inhaled a breath, “A day off for me wouldn’t be very useful to any of us.” Alexius then said, seeming to calm down a little. He needed the job and the coin… he was not leaving, he was just angry. Nothing he’d not tried before… “… and I’d rather have a bath than this. If it’s not too much to ask.” He didn’t think it was, after what she just did and if she wanted him to remain loyal. This was Rome, anyone could be bought. Not that Alexius made a habit of that, but who would want to remain loyal to someone who set you up like this? No, she could do better so that he’d do better for her.

In Oriana's line of work, lying was part of the job. She thought it was a part of everyone's nature. It was very rare that people were truthful around her, whether she was trading secrets with others or at one of her social parties. When she encountered someone that was truthful, she had no reason to believe them. It didn't matter if it was a slave or a Roman General. When she was younger, she always wanted to see the best in people and she believed them. Oriana just thought her younger self was naive. She grew up and realize the nature of people around her.

Even with Alexius, saying he didn't lie, she didn't know what to believe. She knew he was telling the truth, but everybody lied. Oriana took a deep breath, letting her own frustration out. She hated defending herself, especially to someone she was paying. But he was good, and in all honesty, she didn't want to lose his valuable skills. It might be years before she found another bodyguard that was as talented as he was. He needed the money, she needed protection. She left the lying part alone. For now, she believed him. She was usually disappointed some time or another.

When he said that she let him kill the two thugs, she nodded. "They knew what they were getting themselves into." And again, she left it at that. She was exhausted. It was rare she felt this many emotions in one day, and it took a lot to get Oriana worked up to a small frustration. It seemed to be happening more often as of late. She could finally see he was calming down.

"Yes, of course you can have a bath. When we get back, I will have one of the slaves draw it for you and help you with your wounds." The cloth was only suppose to be temporary, after all. She was going to draw him a bath whether he asked for it or not. She couldn't have her personal guard looking like someone from these streets.

Alexius was no con man and he doubted he’d get very far with lying. His emotions hid right under his skin and he’d never been good at hiding what he really felt. And he wasn’t going to try and start now. He would not lie to his mistress, they made a deal and he was her guard and he would protect her, just like he promised. Unless of course she gave him reason not to trust her, which she kind of just did, but he was willing to give her another chance… because he needed this job and if this happened more often than not, she needed him too. Hopefully now she understood this!

When she claimed they would not have killed him, he wondered why she would set them up then, knowing he might kill them. And at least one was dead, he didn’t know about the other and they were hopefully soon leaving the scene. She just shrugged it off, saying they knew what they got themselves into. And now she’d paid him and given him a piece of cloth. Really? He’d much rather have a bath, and she agreed to that at least. Now the only thing that would really improve it was if she would bathe him – but he didn’t dare to wish it. She was far too strict, even with herself.

“Thanks.” Alexius said and wiped some of the blood off his face, although it would probably just smear more than actually come off, “I’d appreciate it if there are no more of these… false operations. Are we going back to the villa now?” He asked and looked to find his blade from earlier. Just in case, he also picked up those the attackers had.

There were two things that came out of the situation for Oriana. The first was that Alexius could actually fight, which definitely mattered. The second was that she'd be getting money out of it too, which she always loved. She didn't have any ill intentions when she hired the thugs, though Alexius thought differently. She looked down at the dead body, knowing that they'd need to get out of here soon before someone noticed the two next to it. But the job was done, and she'd be getting her money tomorrow from a courier.

Things had finally calmed down and so had Oriana. She already had enough stress and tension as it was. After Alexius had this bath, she wouldn't mind one herself to unwind, even if it was just for a couple minutes. She never dared to visit the dirty, public ones. She loved staying in the comfort of her own home where she had personal slaves to draw it for her. It was one of the many perks of having a large villa.

He took the cloth she offered--she had nothing else on her disposal--and spoke about not wanting any more of these operations. He also asked if they were going back to the villa. "I promise you, there will be no more false operations." She said with a slight smirk on her face. She was sincere though; why waste money on more thugs for her entertainment when she could just go to the Colosseum? "Yes, I think we've had enough for tonight. I'll have someone look at your cuts and make sure you're up to par for tomorrow."

Things had calmed down, but Alexius was not going to forget this incident. He didn’t know if he’d forgive it either, but he had to tolerate it, because she was his superior and he was at least getting paid to do it – he already had the bag of money in his hands. And at least he did enjoy a good fight and especially of course when he came out on the winning side of things… which he often did, but still… alright, so maybe it wasn’t so bad after all.

Oriana promised him there would be no more false operations and agreed they should go back to the villa now. She also promised she’d have someone look at his cuts. He gave a nod that they should get going, because it was about time.

“That all sounds good. I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow.” Alexius said to her and fell silent for a little while. Within, he was still a little bit worked up over it all – the adrenaline of the fight and then the discussion with Oriana afterwards. Honestly now all he needed was a good fuck, but he doubted Oriana would provide him with that. She was no Gaia or any of the other countless lovers he had in the past.

On the other hand, if you didn’t ask questions, you’d never get any answers… and did she even know he was interested? She had to, didn't she? With her good looks, she had to know men were easily swayed by her... “I don’t suppose you’d like to join the bath with me?”

Oriana liked walking at night, and realizing that Alexius was the real deal, she felt even safer. Money was louder than anything in the world, and in the end, he didn't seem too upset about it. He stayed after all, though she couldn't tell if it was because he wanted to or because of the money. Either way, he was still her guard. If he did quit, she would think less of him. He was honorable, and though he complained after the fight, it was only for a couple minutes and he got over it. She respected him more than she respected any of her previous guards before.

She kept the silence up, walking while she had a million things to think about. It was hard for her to ever clear her mind. It was always something. The tension in Oriana's back was extremely built up to the point where she often had bad posture when she was working in her office. She'd never let anyone catch her with bad posture, but it was a bad habit she was starting to have when she worked.

Alexius broke the silence with a question she never thought would come out of one of her guard's mouth. It completely surprised her. Normally, she would be absolutely disgusted and appalled that someone less of her would even ask that. She'd yell and probably fire any guard who asked that. And yet, with Alexius, she actually considered it. Maybe it was the stress, maybe it was the fact that Alexius wasn't bad looking, or maybe it was because she hadn't gotten laid in such a long time. It was tempting, so so tempting.

Between the question and her answer, she let the silence linger for a little bit. If anyone found out, she would be chastised and mocked. But if nobody knew, did it really hurt anyone? And because she was paying him to protect her, was it wrong? She finally came to a conclusion.  "Fine. But just this once." It would also save the water for another bath anyways.

This was far from the worst he’d ever been beaten. He had a slightly cracked lip after the thug punched his face and he probably had some bruises on his body, but this was nothing compared to what he’d been through in the arena sometimes. Still though, getting cleaned up and looked at by a medic sounded good. A bath sounded good. A bath together with his lovely mistress sounded even better. Oh he knew it was probably too much to ask for, but if he was going to work for her for a good long while, she might as well get to know him sooner rather than later. She had to know that Alexius liked a good fight and a good fuck afterwards. If not with her, then with someone else. Alexius wasn't entirely picky; that’s just how it was. He might have grown older since his gladiator days, but that didn’t mean his desire for pleasure had gone.

At first she said nothing when he wondered if she’d join the bath. He’d said it almost casually, but there was a spark in his eye and he kept walking, as if it was no big deal. At least she didn’t blurt out a ‘no way’ right away, but thinking about it wasn’t always a good sign either. Then she finally opened her mouth and agreed to it. He assumed she knew exactly what he meant, when he wanted her to joint he bath. Just this once. Right. It didn’t matter. Sometimes once was all it took.

He couldn’t help but smile now, “Of course, Oriana. You are my mistress, after all.” Alexius added – she was definitely the kind of woman, who was used to being in charge and she probably liked hearing that too. He was just her employee and she was the one who made all the decisions. Now was probably not a bad time to let her know, that despite his question, she was still his superior and she was the one who was generous by accepting his offer that she could join the bath. Suddenly this night was not bad at all.

Oriana was still in shock by her own answer. The stress must have really been getting to her. She didn’t have a husband so there was not very many ways to relieve her stress. Plus, with the tension that the two had after the fight, she knew it would probably be a good night. As much as she wanted to think so, she wondered if this would actually be a one-time thing. She figured it probably wouldn’t.

When Alexius spoke, she raised an eyebrow, though didn’t turn back to him. If she was being fair, she wanted to get back to the villa as quickly as possible. ”Now don’t think I’m doing this because I’m your boss. This is completely separate.” She also hoped it was an unsaid rule that this wouldn’t be brought up when he was guarding and she was working. She heard that many men slept with slaves, which disgusted her. But this was different for her. It was frowned upon, but that didn’t matter for Oriana. What mattered was tonight.

After a couple minutes, they got to the villa. She walked in, seeing two slaves in the foyer. ”One of you draw the bath, the other go get Talani to patch my guard up. I will be down in 20 minutes.” She said, watching the slaves go in different directions.

He wanted her to know that despite what might happen when she joined his bath, she was still his mistress and he was aware of that. She was in charge and he was nothing but an employee – willing to give them both another benefit of working together. She didn’t want him to think she did this because she was his boss though and he nodded, “Of course it is.” Some said you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure, although it was hard in this case. He was her guard at all hours, right? She could think what she wanted though, Alexius was just pleased she actually agreed. From the moment he saw her he’d wanted her – pleasure was as much a part of his life as sleeping and eating. And everyone needed it, or so he told himself.

Once they reached the villa, she instructed a few slaves on what to do. Alexius followed the slave going to the bath and the other would know to send the medic there. Once he got that far, he watched the pretty slave begin making the bath ready and sat down on a marble bench to get mostly undressed. It didn’t take that long for the medic to get there – and he got busy cleaning wounds and checking if Alexius needed stitches. It wasn’t that bad though. There were mostly bruises and they’d fade soon enough.

“It’s ready…” The slave preparing the bath finally said, seeming unsure of what to say to Alexius. He was not the mistress and not the Dominus of this house either. He was just another person who worked here, who just happened to not be a slave. Alexius gave the slave a smile, “Thanks. You don’t have to help undressing me. I don’t know if your Domina wants you to stay or go, I guess we’ll find out once she gets here.” Alexius said and stood to remove the last bit of his clothes to get into the bath. The slave stayed put, kept looking at him as he lowered himself into the warm water, "Is it true you were a gladiator?" The slave then asked Alexius nodded with a small sigh, "It's very true. But it's a long time ago now." He glanced over his shoulder, wondering when Oriana would be here. Not that he minded talking about his past, but that's not what was most on his mind right now.

Oriana went up to her room as Alexius and the slave went to the bath. She walked into her room, set her wig on her dresser, and sat on her bed. She took a deep breath. She felt guilt, adrenaline, and excitement. It was unheard of for women to sleep with anyone but their husband in Rome, and with the pressure of rules on her, she felt guilty. The  woman knew it was dumb for her to feel that way, and yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling. It was in the private of her home with only slaves there. But slaves probably talked to one another and her secret might be out.

But that was why she felt adrenaline. Like for once, she was able to break the rules and do something herself. Her bed was cold and lonely at night as it had been for the past two years. She needed someone to fill that space. Since Alexius was suppose to be on guard every night and every day, she knew occupying that time with something fun would be beneficial to the both of them.

For the next twenty minutes, she waited. Oriana hated waiting, though she didn’t want Alexius to be too badly bruised. Finally, she went downstairs to her private bath. It was more like a small pool and could probably hold 10 bathers. She liked the steam during baths so she could breathe. This time though, the agenda wasn’t exactly about bathing.

She opened the bath door. Oriana saw the slave and Alexius, the latter of whom was already in the bath. ”Good evening to the both of you. How are you enjoying the bath, Alexius?” She hoped she wasn’t up there longer than she thought. The woman looked at the slave and wondered if he should stay or go. Alexius did actually need to be bathed, especially after that fight. A little more waiting probably wouldn’t hurt, though it might be more of a tease.

”Cronus, bring me a cloth. And please clean my guard up. He was in a scuffle. He went to get Oriana a cloth for herself. She undressed and went into the bath, sitting on the side. She breathed in the steam. It was nice to breathe in something clean rather than breathing in the dirty air of the poor neighborhood of Rome.

”After this bath I will need help guarding my room, Alexius. I’ve heard there’s a possible intruder that might come here and I need your protection.” Oriana said with a smirk. It was a lie of course, but that was the fun of it. She washed herself with a rag, knowing she needed to be cleaned too after a hard day’s work of writing.

If he’d known she waited on purpose, he might have found it very cute. She could just have joined him from the start, it made no difference to him really. But he was in the bath and together with the male slave attending the bathing room, they waited for Oriana to show up. Making a little bit of conversation about how late it was – it was practically in the middle of the night, but Alexius knew slaves had no say in when or where their owners desired them to be. He’d been there too once, after all, but not anymore.

Finally she appeared and he gave her a smile, “I’m enjoying it well enough so far.” He said, although of course he knew that he’d enjoy it more soon. Alexius didn’t feel bad or guilt about this little plan at all. It was just pleasure and everyone needed it, even unmarried young noblewomen like Oriana. And he was just her employee and it’s not like they were a couple or this was official or anything. Just a little bit of fun. Anyone needed that… especially after a fight, at least according to Alexius.

His mistress then informed the present slave to get her a cloth and to clean up Alexius. His eyes were on Oriana though, as she undressed and slipped into the water too. Oh she was even more beautiful underneath the robes, of course she was! He wasn’t discreet when he let his eyes wander over her body and her curves. Very pleasing to look at!

The slave soon came back to Alexius, a cloth in his hand, to clean him properly. Really he could do it himself, but the order was given and he was not the Dominus of this household. The slave wasn’t too bad looking either, he thought to himself, but he’d save that thought for another day. It felt good to be cleaned like this though, and watching her clean herself just made it even better. Then Oriana broke the silence and informed Alexius she’d need help guarding her room.

“If you need my protection, I’ll be right there, watching you as closely as you desire.” He promised her, although he could not suppress the smiling smoothly at her... then thinking that the bath wasn't all that large, but he still felt he ought to be watching her closer right now, "Do you need help scrubbing your back?"

Oriana usually didn’t share a bath with anyone, even when she was married. She didn’t like public baths, as she thought them dirty and undesirable. Alexius was one of the first people she shared a bath with. The only other time she had shared a bath was with her noble friends, which was a social gathering. As she breathed in the steam, she became less and less stressed, letting her worrying thoughts bury to the back of her mind. Within a couple minutes in the bath, she was completely relaxed. There was nothing stressing her out anymore. The tension was finally coming loose. She was more than excited.

She saw the slave cleaning Alexius as she cleaned herself. They usually did a good job, and the dirt on Alexius was soon washed away. Oriana has the same feeling as Alexius—to be closer to him. The longer she had her eyes on him, the more she wanted to skip everything in between.

When he asked if he could wash her back, she smiled. They finally would be closer. ”Yes of course. That would be more than helpful,” she said making her way over to him in the water. She handed him the cloth and turned around, her body now only a few inches apart from his. Her heart was beating fast, though she wasn’t sure if it was from Alexius or the hot bath. It was probably a combination of both.

He had yet to touch her as did she yet to touch him, but when he started washing her back, she knew she had no regrets. It was strange to be physically close to another man after two years of distancing herself from everyone. This encounter really meant nothing to the both of them. Yet, she didn’t plan on this being the last time with Alexius. It was a fantastic way to spend downtime together. Most men in the noble class weren’t going to be as strong as Alexius was, so she was excited to have a different experience.

She wouldn’t be surprised if Cronus knew exactly what was going on, but she didn’t care. ”Thank you Cronus. I need you to check on my father. It’s about the time for his remedy.” Oriana had no idea what time it was, but she wanted him out of there. ”Yes, mistress, your towels are on the bench,” he said. She couldn’t see the man leave since her back was turned towards him, but she could hear him walking in the water and leaving the pool. When he left through the doors, she immediately turned around and kissed Alexius, getting impatient and not wanting to wait any longer.

She seemed more and more relaxed, as she sat there in the bath, scrubbing herself in front of Alexius. And while it was nice with the slave doing it all for him, he didn’t need it and he was plenty clean now to be elsewhere than by this side of the bath. So it only made sense to offer to scrub her back – and they both knew it was an excuse, didn’t they? That all he wanted was to get close to her and when she agreed it would be helpful, it was obvious she wanted the same. She had smiled when he asked and now she moved over to him and handed him the cloth.

She turned her back to him then and he looked her over; her smooth skin, her pretty neck, the hair which was slightly wet by the tips now. He pushed the strands of hair out of the way, his fingers brushing lightly over her skin, hopefully teasing her and wanting to feel them more.

He dipped the cloth into the warm water and then ran it over her shoulders and the upper part of her back, while she made sure the slave left. When Cronus was gone, Alexius’ hands disappeared under the water and his hands were on her sides, when she turned in his almost-embrace and kissed him. Alexius welcomed the kiss, letting her push him back against the side of the bath, so that he’d be sitting and she would pin him there. Well as much as she could pin him; she was much smaller than he and he enjoyed that part. Alexius liked his women quite feminine and Oriana was perfect.

While they kissed, his hands roamed over her body, exploring it, fondling her breasts and her bottom and pulling her closer. It was almost more than he could take and since she was plenty close to him, she’d definitely feel something hard underneath the water… and it wouldn’t be the stone bench he sat on. Then he broke the kiss, looking at her with a saying grin on his face, “I’m ready when you are… Oriana…” By now it wasn’t awkward for him to speak her name like this and especially not now. Gods this woman needed to ride him, now!

Oriana never thought that she, of all people, was about to sleep with someone that wasn't of her class. His rugged features were the opposite of most Roman noblemen. She knew it would be a different experience than it was with her late husband, and she was very okay with that. When he touched her as he washed her, she got goosebumps. She hadn't been touched like that in so long. She had a feeling that Alexius was a lot more experienced than she was. The woman liked more experienced men and often went after older men, which she directly associated with power. Even though Alexius didn't have any political power of his own, she figured he had a lot of power when it came to the bedroom.

When she kissed him, she pinned him to the side of the bath, getting on top of him. This was exactly what she needed, and any doubt escaped her mind. All she cared about was his touch on her breasts and her bottom, and her touch on his face. The steam of the bath made for her to sweat more, but the rest of her body was already wet anyways, so that didn't matter. She could feel him get hard, which aroused her even more. Oriana always knew she was attractive, but nobody dared to ask her what Alexius had. Maybe if they did, she wouldn't be so tense.

Alexius broke the kiss, saying he was ready whenever she was. He then said her name, which she smiled at. "Gods, I need you Alexius," she said under her breath. She put him in slowly, letting out a moan as she did. She almost forgot how great it felt. When he was all the way in, she started riding him, her breath getting heavy as she moved her hips. She moved his hands and put them on her hips, holding on to them as she kept riding. She made sure her moans weren't loud enough to get the attention of her slaves, but there were times when she couldn't help it. She never knew the adrenaline of being with someone she wasn't married to and realized why people did it with their slaves and mistresses. She hoped her slaves wouldn't come in and think something was wrong, but she was sure that they already knew what was going on.

She kissed him again, her body not stopping what she was doing. She could feel the tension in her back easing with each movement as pleasure replaced it. If Oriana knew how good this was, she wished he had asked sooner! She pushed her hair out of the way of her face, but everything was just perfect at this moment. "You're good at this," she said with a slight smile, then being overtaken by a moan. This was the best thing that had happened in the last two years.

For Alexius, social class didn’t really matter so much when it came to who he shared pleasure with. He had slept with so many by now, high and low, noblewomen and slaves and all those in between and men too – although when it came to men, they tended to be closer to his own rank, at least now. When he was a gladiator, it was different of course. But it didn’t matter. Sex was sex, it was there to be enjoyed and anyone could enjoy it… and he could enjoy it with anyone. And he could definitely enjoy the feeling of his new mistress’ lips on his and her body close to his too.

Oriana had definitely chosen an experienced man to do this with. He didn’t know she had gone two years without sex and if he knew, he might have felt sorry for her and wanted to please her sooner. But he had to figure out if she wanted to, first, and well… here they were. In the bath, with the hot water and she was now on top of him. When he moved back to sit on the bench under the water, her legs easily wrapped around his and he let her know he was ready. She said she needed him and he helped her adjust and let out a sigh when he finally went inside.

“Have me, then…” He said through his breath, but she was already at it, the water splashing over the edges of the bath, but it didn’t matter. Alexius held his hands on her hips as she seemed to want and his lips found her throat and collarbones, just where he knew the skin was sensitive. Gods she felt good! And she wasn’t being quiet either, the whole villa must know what was going on, but did it matter? It was her place. She could do whatever she wanted to.

He couldn’t help but smile when she complimented him and he grinned when she moaned, “Oh? I feel you’re doing… all the hard work right now…” He said, trying to speak through his own moans and heavy breath, “… but thanks.” He added with a smirk, his one hand sliding from her hip and down to her bottom again. This was so good, just what he needed! And wouldn’t he like to fuck her too? Although this felt pretty good too and he was not about to complain. She did promise him she’d need him close all night, so he had that to look forwards to. Alexius reached his hand up then to grab a handful of her hair, turning her head so that he could kiss her again. Such sweet lips! How lucky it was for him that she had no husband, wasn’t it?

Oriana was always told that sex, for females, wasn't suppose to be pleasurable. It was suppose to be for procreation, which she always thought was so boring. She really didn't like children, as when she was a child, she felt the same way. It was no wonder that there were brothels and prostitutes littered throughout Rome. She found them disgusting, but she understood the need for it. Sex was amazing, and Oriana didn't even think about it until it was brought up. She was lucky she didn't have a husband to worry about...yet.

The water, him, the pleasure--everything felt amazing. She was glad her father was a heavy sleeper. Everything in the bathhouse seemed to echo, seemingly amplifying the noise. The noise was the last thing on her mind though. She felt his lips on her neck. She loved the intimacy of it all, the closeness of the two that had no emotional attachment. She never thought that anything like this would happen, and to think she almost denied his request. She smiled when he spoke, but she was speechless.  When he grabbed her hair and kissed her, she loved him being so close to her.

She found Alexius extremely attractive and didn't realize it. To her, a guard was usually just a guard, a lower class citizen was a lower class citizen, and she usually didn't take notice of their physical features. His soft lips, in-shape body, and strong cheekbones were very desirable to her. He would be attractive to a lot of people, but she was able to have him tonight. The thought of that put a smile on her face.

She slowed down, not stopping, and spoke. "Shall we take things to the bedroom?" She asked with a smirk, her voice airy and speaking through heavy breaths. They'd have more privacy there and it might not be as loud. Still, she didn't want to get up and stop, though she knew there wouldn't be a problem bringing back the intimacy.
