    • In Syria: The syrian legions rally to Marcus Scaurus, who refuses an offer of cooperation made by Quintus Alexander; their respective legions prepare for battle. - Quintus Alexander is victorious and Marcus Scaurus agrees to cooperate with Alexander. The senate of Antioch, mostly consisting of exiled senators from Rome, agree to surrender the city to Alexander, and the region commanders declare their loyalty to him

    • Clemens forces a marriage to Rufia Flavia. Flavia publicly rejects him and calls him an impotent coward. She is physically injured by Clemens yet it is blamed on a suicide attempt. Clemens orders his guards to cut the crowd down, leading to a massacre.

    GERMANIC INCURSIONS EVOLVE INTO A FULL-SCALE INVASION

    • In Germania: A Germanic horde launches an invasion into Roman Germania, taking two Roman forts along the border.
    • Auxiliary scouts arrive in Moguntiacum to report the invasion. Tribune Lucius Bellomarus of the 1st Raetian Auxilia rallies veterans around Aventicum; his numbers swell to 5,000. He intercepts the advancing Germans and engages them in combat. The Germans take great losses and lose heart; the Lugii and Marcomanni split, with the Lugii moving north and the Marcomanni moving south.
    • The Lugii attempt to retreat back into greater Germania but were thwarted by Legatus Sulla Felix; the Romans win a complete victory over the Lugii; their king, Marbod is captured alive.
    • The Marcomanni split even further and into more directions. The force under Vangio has moved westward into Gaul. His brother Sido leads a larger host and successfully captures Fort Aug. Praetoria; They winter in the Alps.

    • Quintus Alexander holds the final senate meeting of the year. He declares himself senior consul of the new year with his brother Octavius Alexander as his co-consul; Gaius Sestius Vaticanus as lieutenant governor of Pannonia; Quintus Caecina Tuscus as lieutenant governor of Syria; Numerius Julius Mento as lieutenant governor of Africa; Gaius Livius Lucretinus Aemilianus' post as Praefectus Urbanus be made official; Caesar claims role as sole censor, as Lucius Sulla Magnus declines his own nomination as censor; Jullus Flavius Alexander as Praefectus Praetorio, Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus as one of the Tribunes of the Plebs and Marcus Aemilius Scaurus Alexander as Quaestor Augusti. Among other notable nominations, newly popular with the people, young Marcus Antonius Tacitus is made Tribune of the Plebs; Tertius Quinctilius Varus praetor; and Secundus Quinctilius Varus quaestor.

    • Near summer, Quintus sends envoys to the surrounding tribes – both those already allied and those warring – requesting their obedience and fealty. Those already allied reconfirm their alliances, while those in the alliance against the Romans ignore the messages. Except for Eppitacos himself, who agrees to meet with the Roman emperor in secret.

    • Rumours have spread through the Briton ranks that Eppitacos is a Roman sympathizer; some cite his mother (herself a “Roman” [slave]), while others point their fingers at Eupheme, the woman Eppitacos had at his side for much of the years of his rebellion. Ysulda the princess of the Brigantes, especially, took offense to Eppitacos’ relative disinterest in her, and sees his power as an obstacle to her own.

    • Whispers arise of jealous from either Camilius or Scipio. Alexander's swift victory permitted Scipio to gain his later conquest of the Dacians.

    • Jullus Flavius Alexander encourages traders and settlers to move into Germanian lands at their own risk, informing of that hostile barbarian tribes have pulled back but that legionnary support cannot be guaranteed beyond the Rhine. Fortune-seekers from all over the empire arrive to try their luck on the new frontier, initiating "the peaceful settlement of Germania."

    • Increased rainfall throughout the year leads to an overflow of the Tiber; Ostia, Rome's port city, is flooded and covered in feet of silt. 
    • Lucius Caecilius Italicus, Equestrian governor of Ostia, quickly cleans up the mess and is given honors by Caesar for his diligent work.
    • Until it is fixed, trade to the city of Rome is limited.
