  1. @Liv Hey! So Livia's situation seems suuuper interesting, and so does Titus', especially when you mentioned that Aulus could be jelly of what he has as far as a family that Aulus feels like he got shafted on. I'm up for either one or both plots, so lemme know where they are currently at location-wise, and we can see who has the flash of brilliance first to post the starters. :3

  2. aulus avilus galerius - thirty-six - spymaster
    3a7LW5.gif
senatore - hetero - widower (agrippina julia, deceased)

    family
Those he knows personally and of course his family are genuinely loved and protected. He isn't violent, but being in the business he is, he knows people who are for the promise of some coin. If he needs to call on them, he absolutely will, without hesitation, if his family is in danger. He gets along with his immediate family fairly well and even his in-laws, despite what's happened with their daughter (his wife who passed).

    protagonist
Aulus is, on the surface, a kind, gentle man. His babyface invites you in, makes you feel welcomed, cared for, and valued. He will have a chat with just about anyone, as long as it doesn't turn personal, and he's great at offering advice on a situation.

    antagonist
Aulus can and will be rather ruthless if need be. He may not be the one carrying out the act personally, but he will not hesitate to make the call to have it done. The sweet, soft cinnamon roll everyone sees is thrown to the wayside for a conniving, snippy, almost bitterly shrewd snake-in-the-grass.

    romantic
His adored wife passed before she could give birth to their children (one girl, one boy), so children are a sore subject for him, and just a reminder of what he's lost and can never get back. In order to redirect his attention from this new lifestyle he's chosen for himself, the new connection he finds will have to be a very strong one.

    colleagues
He does do his best work for them, regardless of his feelings, but if it came down to himself or them, then he would certainly choose himself. He is absolutely one that separates emotion from business. He knows that when emotions enter into business, mistakes get made, and due to his job and his boss, he can't allow that to happen. If he allows himself to think past the surface of something, to involve his heart along with his head, he will get pulled into a mental and emotional quicksand that it will take him days, if not longer, to get out of. In his line of work, that's dangerous, even deadly.

    Name: Up to you!

    Face: Diane Kruger/"Helen" from Troy

Plottage: This young lady is a dead ringer, if you'll excuse the pun, for Aulus' wife who passed away two years ago after losing both unborn children to unknown causes. I suspect that he would've glimpsed her a few times just around Roma as he goes about his business and she about hers, but never said anything or even approached her. He's likely been driving himself batty in private, wondering who she is, if she even exists or if he's just going crazy and seeing his beloved wife everywhere. I'd love for them to eventually meet and, if the player is up for it, begin an earnest friendship that could lead to a life together. 4. AULUS AVILUS GALERIUS

    Personality

Aulus is, on the surface, a kind, gentle man. His babyface invites you in, makes you feel welcomed, cared for, and valued. Most are, to be honest. Those he knows personally and of course his family are genuinely loved and protected, but less so would be those he works with and for.

Much like a duck, though, the quiet and non-threatening Aulus can and will be rather ruthless if need be. He may not be the one carrying out the act personally, but he will not hesitate to make the call to have it done. The sweet, soft cinnamon roll everyone sees is thrown to the wayside for a conniving, snippy, almost bitterly shrewd snake-in-the-grass. This change, oddly enough, mostly happens around children and abrasive adults. Adults - everyone can understand that, but why children? His adored wife passed before she could give birth to thier first child, so children are a sore subject for him, and just a reminder of what he's lost and can never get back. In order to redirect his attention from this new lifestyle he's chosen for himself, the new connection he finds will have to be a very strong one.

    Appearance

Aulus is.. not a man of remarkable appearance. Standing at about 5 feet 9 inches, he is a rotund man with a gentle face and kind, sparkling blue eyes that tend to see everything, even if you don't think so. The most noticeable thing about him though is his bald head - though if he had hair, it would be a dark blonde, almost brown hue, as indicated by his eyebrows. He dresses according to his social class while out in public, but in private, he dresses for comfort. He keeps himself well groomed as to not attract unwanted attention, and always wears his wife's wedding ring on his right pinky. He also wears his wedding ring on the left ring finger and a ring bearing his family's seal on his left pinky.

    Agrippina Mania - Sister in Law {b. 44 CE}

    Other: None

    History

39 CE - Aulus was born third, after his two older brothers Quintus and Spurius, who grew to be in the military and the senate respectively. His parents, with them, felt they had their family's future cemented, so they cared not what he chose for a career when he came of age.

46 CE - Seven years later, they brought forth a little girl to be named Avila. As she grew, her older brothers protected her absolutely, and she became good friends with the daughters of Gaius Agrippa Julius - Agrippina Mania, the eldest girl, and Agrippina Julia, the youngest. The two girls also had two older brothers, Lucius and Fabius.

57 CE - When Agrippina Julia reached the age of 14 and he was 18, he asked permission from her as well as her parents, to begin seeing her in earnest. He had watched her grow up through the visits with his sister, and felt a growing bond that they could cultivate. Both the parents and Agrippina agreed to this, so a true relationship began to form.

58 CE - Aulus, seeing an opening to assist his family in their chosen jobs, joins the information trading career path.

60 CE - Just three short years later, he asked Agrippina Julia to marry him, which she accepted.

62 CE - Agrippina becomes pregnant with their first child, a girl, but loses it due to complications.

64 CE - Two years later, they try again, just to lose a son. Aulus, devestated, throws himself into his work while she goes into a deep depression that even he cannot seem to bring her out of.

67 CE - In his work, he learns of a gang run by the Caesar's friend who carries out high ranking assassinations. Thinking this could be a lucrative opportunity to use his work for something other than it's initial intentions, he joins up with them in secret to supply them with information on targets as well as their inner workings.

70 CE - Through his father three years after, he met Pinaria Lucretia and her husband through his father at their wedding and still keeps in contact with them to this day.

72 CE - In winter, not having recovered fully from her depression, his wife falls ill. He does his best to stay by her side while working simoultaneously, but he doesn't have long to divide himself - in the spring of 73, her illness takes her from him. He has, since, dove into his work headfirst and focused on that alone, aside from the limited amount of time that he gets to spend with his immediate family. When he wasn't working, he was navigating repairs on his home, left over from the eruption and tremors of Vesuvius.

75 CE - With repairs completed, he's into his work now more than ever, carrying information back and forth between the Caesar and his group of assassins with the utmost speed and accuracy.

  5. IGNATIUS

    23 | 10th December 50 AD | Slave | Kitchen Worker | Questioning | OC | Paul Craddock

    r0ICis.jpg

    Personality

Iggy is a gentle, sweet guy who, strangely, enjoys his work. He's usually found in the kitchen of Domus Venus, but helps out in other positions when it's needed. He's not a morning person and will likely never be, but not in a bad way - he's not grumpy or rude, simply not terribly talkative unless it's required. He loves being around children, baking sweets for them if he can get away with it, since he grew up a slave himself and knows the life they lead. As such, he hates seeing them be reprimanded in harsh ways, but knows not to speak out, lest he receive the same, if not worse punishment for speaking out of turn. There are many things he turns a blind eye to that he wishes he didn't have to, but such is the life of a slave.

His ways in keeping his room up are very neat and precise since he has been taught this nearly since birth, and if anything is out of order, he will notice. If too much is out of place at the same time, he will - almost panickedly - rush about to get it back to where and how it should be before anyone in charge notices. He does love to lounge about, but not if there is work to be done. Only after the work is complete will he allow himself to sit, or sometimes even take a meaningful breath.

    Appearance

Standing around five-eight, Iggy isn't unusual in that sense. It's his Germanic paleness that makes him stand out - blonde, almost white hair; pale blue eyes, and a pale skin tone with a golden sheen. His face seems delicately sculpted out of marble by an elite artist and given life by the gods themselves. His body is soft and supple, but still contains the strength and durability to do the work required of him at the Domus Venus.

    Family

Father: Mattias / Mercury - slave, still alive

Mother: Amalia / Gaia - slave, still alive

Siblings: Maia - older sister, stillborn

    Spouse: None

    Children: None

    Extended family: Unknown

Other: Titinia Novella - owner, boss

    History

-- Mattias and Amalia come from Germanic lands to find a new home in Rome. They, low on coin, find themselves borrowing from 'Herr' Marcellus Severus Minor, a local 'businessman' and promised to pay him back with the profit from their lands.

-- The two fall on hard times and are unable to make much of a profit, making Amalia offer to work for him and his family to pay back the rest. With them being ignorant to the ways of Rome, she doesn't realize she has just signed up herself and her husband, who is assigned to the fields, for a lifetime of servitude.

-- In May of 46 CE, Amalia bears a child - a stillborn daughter that she names Maia. Four years later, in 50, a son comes into the world. She names him Erik, but his slave name in his new home is Ignatius.

-- Iggy, as the other children in the home call him, is treated well and seems to seamlessly blend in with the life, following instructions and keeping up with even some of the older children in chores once he is old enough.

-- He learns what schooling there is from the matrons and other children, just enough to count his coin that he earns and to pay for market items, if he is asked to do so. As he ages, he gains more responsibility in the home and ends up in the kitchen. Marcellus' wife, Titinia, claims the boy for her business, Domus Venus.

-- Now 23, he nearly has full run of the kitchen if the matron isn't there, and knows his way about the place. He loves to cook and do the dishes, and when he gets a chance, to create sweets for others as a gift or reward. He hopes to become head of the kitchen one day and please his Madame with the skills he's learned.
