Charis exhaled as Tertius explained. He was clearly displeased, and Tertius in a bad mood was unpredictable to say the least. She saw his look and couldn't read it (she could never read his intentions) and then to the taller blonde woman who looked nonplussed by Tertius' clear aggravation. Indeed, instead of backing down, she stepped between husband and wife and purposefully made a show of peering between their faces, smirking. "You realise I'm still here, yes? And can see these little looks? You know more," She gestured between the two of them, "Than you let on. But I'm a patient woman I-"

Charis interrupted her, her face hard, shoulders rolled back and trying to channel the wealthy Roman women she'd seen command almost legions of slaves. "Enough." She glared up at the woman, not backing down. "You are clearly not welcome, and despite your patience we are not patient. You will leave, I'll walk you out." she opened her arm, gesturing for Hilda to follow her. "Now." Hilda hesitated, glancing back at Tertius to see if he'd disagree before rolling her own shoulders, smirking. "As the little lady wishes. But I shall be back Tertius." Charis gave Tertius a look which said 'I'll handle this' and then turned to walk towards the door out onto the street. She jerked her head for a slave to open the door and escort Hilda out, but before she could leave Charis whispered hurriedly; "He'll be working in the morning next ides. I will meet you at the bakery on the corner."

Hilda nodded and with a slight wave to Tertius, grinning, she swanned out.

It was true Tertius didn't know where Wulfric lived or how to find him. He had never tried. Maybe Wulfric had mentioned once that he worked somewhere, but it was not of any importance to Tertius, who had chosen to not include a third son in his family. Teutus had been a surprise, not planned, but not entirely unwanted either. Just also not really wanted. He was just there. Peregrinus had also come as a surprise, but he had been wanted very much. Wulfric... was so far removed from all that, that he didn't even count. And Tertius wouldn't give Hilda anything after how she spoke to him and threatened him. Now he just had to make sure Charis wouldn't either. She'd found Wulfric and spoken to him last year, so she knew more than he did. But they were in this together, as far as he knew. She didn't want Wulfric to threaten Peregrinus' rank. And she was Tertius' wife now. So far, she was behaving very well and he was maybe even beginning to trust her again.

But Hilda, she could not be trusted. She stepped closer, claimed something about looks between them and that they knew more than what they were telling. Tertius did not know more! All he knew was that Teutus had some kind of bond or something with his half-brother, so maybe he knew something. But he wasn't going to tell Hilda. Charis then broke in, looking at Hilda with quite the hard face, glaring up at Hilda and telling her she was not welcome. Tertius gave Charis an appreciative look, he'd never seen her behave like that before! He was impressed! More than impressed, actually.

Hilda promised she'd be back, "I don't think so." Tertius replied, thinking he'd tell the guards to also keep her out of the household along with Wulfric. Hilda left though, together with Charis, towards the door. Tertius lifted his chin as Hilda waved to him with a grin, keeping his posture and head high. When the doors finally closed though, he sat down on the nearest couch with a heavy sigh. Things had been going so well for once! He did not need this!
