  1. Gaia absolutely loved Saturnalia. It was one of her most favourite festival seasons. Who could not love the merriment that the came with it? The generosity? The giving? The sexual enjoyment? The feasting? It was all absolutely blissful. She wanted to get out of the villa and away from Corinthia's dark mood. She loved being around the happiness and naturally she ended up at the Domus Venus. She smiled, her eyes lit up at the festivities and of late she had been fairly modest in her tastes when it came to the flesh. In the crook of her arm she brought honeyed sweets, fruits, and other things to make joy. Gaia swayed a little as she watched the spendour around them. She waved to the elegant woman on the reclining couch, a beautiful sight and walked towards them. Her hand reached out for a goblet of wine, sipped it and offered a treat from her basket to the two men before she sat beside Titinia. Gaia had not met her before although she had been a distant client of the Domus Venus in the past. However, she never stepped foot inside the building itself -- she had been focused on sharing genorsity outside the building. She was not entirely sure how she ended up here. "Ave Venus," She smiled sweetly and offered her something from her basket. "Would you like to try some of my fruit?" She asked, playing the role of the role reversal that the Saturnalia was known for. HeliosTitinia Novella
  2. Marcus was not happy. He noticed Helios approach him and glanced away in hope that he would find somebody else to pester. Anybody else. He looked down at the Domina and knew she wanted everyone to be merry. Unfortunately for him he soon had Helios' arm draped around him, and visibly groaned. For now, he had to play along and it did not seem to matter to Helios that their positions would later be reversed. All that mattered to him now was that Marcus had to play nice. Marcus gave him a slow, strained smile and silently wished he could shave his head. Or otherwise find a way to dispose of him. Still, he had to play nice and the Domina would not approve of him making a scene during the Saturnalia celebrations. He wrapped his own arm around Helios' shoulder in what would be a familial, happy bond if it was not for the irritated look in his eye. "Oh yes, how could I not enjoy myself with you here?" He asked, in the distance he heard Calvunus laughing at something and enjoying himself. Marcus glanced down at the Domina and felt like a caged dog. Completely unable to act how he wanted to. 3. Marcus did not like Saturnalia much. He did enjoy it when he was not on duty although it was never pleasant watching other people enjoy themselves. Every so often he would have to smile and wave to make a show of things. It often meant certain slaves and workers of the Domus Venus had a chance to get uppity. Yet he knew that it was not his place to decline or protest. They would have also fallen on deaf ears. Naturally Calvunus was utterly loving the flirtation and gift giving like the twat that he is. He glanced down at the Domina of the Domus Venus reclined on a couch, and stood behind her faithfully as a guard for the evening. Naturally she was being gracious, friendly and was beautiful to behold. How many of them realised that she could be a demon from the Underworld? He watched the gathered nobles and commoners at the door. Already he wished he could focus on the things he treasured the most. Dice and drinking, not to mention time with certain workers who he favoured. For the time being he waited and hoped.Titinia Novella
  4. She breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Aeneas' voice. Her hand rested on her chest as she exhaled sharply, the assassination attempt on her life still gave her cause for alarm. It happened months ago. The man had been absolutely butchered for his crimes ... yet he had told her absolutely nothing. Her large, expressive eyes were still wide with fear, and she moved closer to Aeneas. A part of her wanted to move closer, feel those arms around her, and yet... She snapped at him. "Well?!" She snapped at him. Her eyes narrowed in contempt and dislike towards the situation. "Of course, I am well." Corinthia added sharply, the noise of the celebrations continued to fill her ears and was a reminder that her world could someday turn upside down. She could hear the laughter, drinking, and celebrations. No doubt they were having an excellent time. Corinthia rested her hand against her forehead in her hand for a moment, her kohl was smudged around her eyes and she regarded him for a moment. "Why aren't you with the others?" She asked, glanced towards the blaziers that lit up the hallway and offered a chance for her to see him better. He almost looked like a Roman soldier if it was not for the faded tattooes. The months of training and quality food had given him a healthier look than he had many months ago at the marketplace. Most of the household slaves (and her mother!) absolutely loved the celebrations, taking part in the merriment and regretted when it finished. "Well?" Corinthia demanded. Her posture raised and her chin did so. She regarded him steadily and had to rise her eyes to meet his. Aeneas
  5. Dec 73CE. Saturnalia event. Gaia's villa outside Rome. Corinthia despised this holiday. All the gift giving, feasting, sexual prowess, and uppity slaves. It irritated her. She always tried her best to feign illness to hide in her rooms until it was over. Her mother also particularly loved this occasion. Welcoming guests to the home and wanting any chance possible to spoil the slaves. It made no sense! In her room she could hear the merry making as she reclined. Arms loosely folded around her chest, mentally she tried to block out the noise and hoped there would be some natural disaster that would put an end to it. Her hands cupped her ears to block out the noise, grit her teeth in irritation and growled in frustration. Her hand lifted the goblet from beside her with a mild sedative that did not work before it was thrown against the wall. The contents slipped over the wall and dribbled down. There was no pause nor stop to the celebrations. A chance that they were not heard to begin with. She exhaled, swung her long legs off the side of the lounge and opened the doors. For the moment there were no servants nor slaves to assist. No doubt they were all too busy being "entertained" by the brainless little twit. Surely people still understood procedure? Corinthia shivered, exhaled sharply in frustration and walked quickly towards the hallway. Unfortunately some of the torches had gone out and had not yet been relit by the slaves. She growled in frustration and a hint of fear. Was this the same people who tried to have her killed before? She saw an outline of someone. She squinted and called out. "Salve? Who is there?!"

    Turia

Turia Eighteen | 7th July 56CE| Slave | Cosmetics slave ( | Bisexual | Original | Filiz Ahmet Personality. Turia loves to flatter her clients. Her privileged position within a household depends on her Domina's favour, and she endeavours to keep it. She enjoys her work, highlighting the facial features of women and increasing their beauty. She lives to see their eyes light up at the sight of their reflection. (Completely unaware of the chemicals acting as a poison within the salves). Turia wears two faces. One when she is working; demure, quiet, polite, and dignified. The other? A joker, friendly and happy to chat. Sharing compliments come easy to her, so long as they are genuine, and true. Her negative traits? She tends to ignore the negative in favour of the positive. She puts her head in the sand if she doesn't want to see things or if she belies she is unable to change them. Turia wholeheartedly believes that if she behaves well, nothing negative will happen to her and Appearance Turia stands at 5ft tall. Her skin is an olive complexion with large, dark eyes framed by pretty lashes. Her eyes are lined with kohl to highlight them and her skin is without blemishes. Her nose is a little broad and croked. Her smile is easy and wide. Her body is petite with minimal muscle tone, her legs are of average length, and since her Domina enjoys being surrounded by beautiful things. Her clothing is soft and delicate. Family Father: Unknown. Her mother says he was a dashing pirate although Turia believes she is lying. Biological Father: Her uncle Ario. Mother: Vena, one of her first Owners household slaves. Siblings: Likely several on her father's side of the family. On her mother's side, she had five other siblings with a mixed number surviving to adulthood. Spouse: N/A. Children: N/A. Extended family: Other: Name here -- Past Owners, owners of a slave training school. Isis - Hair & wig stylist slave (). Best friend and confidante. History Turia was born in 56CE. While her Dominus was kind enough to permit her a childhood with her parents. She was selected to be trained as a cosmetics slave. The training meant she had been trained how to blend in and hide until she was requested, how to mix cosmetics, how to apply them and wigs to the face without causing her clients any issues. (Or getting herself punished in the process.) Turia was an apt pupil, she knew what the struggles would ultimately pay off and prevent her from having a darker fate. The class difference was great between her Domines and herself, they were hesitant to sell her on and unfortunately, their business was the training of slaves and they organised for a private viewing for a noblewoman. Turia ensured she was doing her best possible work. Her fingertips trembled a little, slowly but surely, it was complete. At fifteen she had changed hands for the first time. The noblewoman clapped her hands in approval and it was settled. Her ownership was transferred over. Before she would leave to where her fate began. Her old Dominus placed his hands on her shoulders, told her to be a good girl and the gods would be kind of her. She went to the old house, and instantly found herself overwhelmed by the amount of slaves. The wealth the family had was extreme. It took her a while in order to find her footing. Slowly but surely, she made herself useful. The other slaves would test her at first. She found her place within the household. During the celebrations of Saturnalia, she was surprised when the Domina of the household gave her a plate of food, sat her down with a cup of wine, and asked her all about her life while the celebrations went on around them. She found it to be rather strange. Soon the confidence and the wine opened her lips -- and her legs. Turia bedded her Domina and enjoyed the experience. After Saturnalia had ended, there was an unspoken bond between the two and Turia soon found herself often in the Domina's bed when her husband had not visited. Every so often she could be found in her Domina's retinue as she wandered through the streets of Rome. A small bag ready with items needed to ensure her Domina always looked her best. In 74CE, her life is just beginning.. Gothic | GMT+11 | PM or Discord.

    General Military Information

THE MILITARY OF ROME It was under Augustus that the classical “legion” system that is so well known today came into common use. He organized the armies of Rome into an effective, conquering fighting force that would not be greatly changed until the reforms of Emperor Diocletian some 300 years later.Under Augustus, the legions became fighting forces of heavy infantry who were professionals (Roman citizens), and light infantry, archers, and cavalry who were auxiliary (non-citizens.) A legion was comprised of 5-6000 citizen soldiers, flanked by cohorts of various types of auxiliary troops that numbered around the same; giving the legion a total number of around 10,000. LEGION ORGANIZATION Contubernium (Tent Group) - consists of 8 men.Centuria (Century) - consists of 10 Tent Groups, for a total of 80 men. Commanded by a Centurion.Cohors (Cohort) - consists of 6 Centuries, for a total of 480 men, not including officers. Additionally the First Cohort consisted of only 5 double-strength centuries, (making it 160 per Century).Legio (Legion) - consists of 10 cohorts. In addition, every legion had an attachment of cavalry attached to it known as Eques Legionis to be used as scouts and messengers. So, in total: the First Cohort totals 800 (with 5 double-strength Centuries numbering 160 men each) + 9 normal-strength Cohorts (each Cohort with 6 Centuries of 80 men) = 4,320, plus an additional 120 cavalry for a grand total of 5,240 men without officers included. In AeRO, to make numbers easier to understand, we round legions to 10,000 men strong. A standard legion will have 5,300 standard, citizen legionnaires (officers included) with 4,700 auxiliaries. A typical consular army (a field army) used for warfare would have at least two full-strength legions with two legions of Auxiliaries, totally around 40,000 men. There would be one Legatus (usually the governor of the province) in command of the field army, with other legates in command of individual legions. LEGION RANKS Senior Officers - Typically men of aristocratic, Patrician or Equestrian standing. They receive the highest pay. Legatus Legionis - The overall Legionary commander. This post is usually appointed by the emperor. A Legatus must be a former Tribune and holds command for 4 years, although extensions are possible and often used. Tribunus Laticlavius - Appointed by the Emperor or the Senate. Though generally quite young and less experienced than the Tribuni Angusticlavii, he serves as second in command of the legion, behind the Legate. Praefectus Castrorum - The camp Prefect. Typically the Prefect is a man who serves through the ranks of Centurions and is promoted. Is third in command of the legion. Tribuni Angusticlavii - Each legion has 5 military tribunes of Equestrian class citizens. They are in many cases career officers and serve many of the important administrative tasks of the Legion. However, during engagements, they still serve in a full tactical command. Two of these five, however, are -- like the Laticlavii above -- appointed at a young age. Primus Pilus - The "First File" is the commanding centurion of the First Cohort and the senior centurion of the entire Legion. Service in this position also allows entry into the Equestrian social class upon retirement. Mid-Level Officers - Always men of lower Equestrian standing or citizens who managed to work their way through the ranks. Centurions - Each Legion has 59 centurions, one to command each centuria of the 10 cohorts. They are the backbone of the professional army and are the career soldiers who run the day to day life of the soldiers as well as issuing commands in the field. They are generally moved up from the ranks, but in some cases could be direct appointments from the Emperor or other higher ranking officials. Pilus Prior - The commander of the first cohort of each Centuria (except the first). Often moved up through the ranks based on experience. Low-Level Officers - Again, typically these are men of Equestrian class, though Citizens can attain these positions as well. Aquilifer - A single position within the Legion. The Aquilifer is the Legion's Standard or Eagle bearer and is an enormously important and prestigious position. The next step up is a post as a Centurion. Signifer - Each Centuria has a Signifer (59). He is responsible for the men's pay and savings, and the standard bearer for the Centurial Signum, a spear shaft decorated with medallions and often topped with an open hand to signify the oath of loyalty taken by the soldiers. Optio - One for each Centurion (59), they are appointed by the Centurion from within the ranks to act as his second in command. Tesserarius - (Guard Commander) Again there are 59 of these, or one for each Centuria. They act in similar roles to the Optios. Cornicen - (Horn blower) They work hand-in-hand with the Signifer drawing the attention of the men to the Centurial Signum and issuing the audible commands of the officers. 15. Claudia watched Decimus while he sat down across from her. He was handed a goblet of water by the servant. For a moment she wondered what he was looking at and turned to see what was viewing. There were times when she realised that many Romans did not frequently view the same finery that she did. It was something she could owe to her station in life. She chuckled when he answered her, it was true, she had heard many tales of battles of yesteryear and wished to know of Decimus. And besides, didn't all soldiers love to tell tales of their prowess? "Not at all, I enjoy hearing these tales and if you are to guard me. It makes sense for me to know of your skill," She answered sweetly. He didn't quite answer concerning his battle prowess yet although it was fascinating to hear people's origins. Spain. Another country she had never visited and one she would like to. Many Romans traveled throughout the Empire to see the other parts of the world. Perhaps she would sometime. "Spain," She answered, it sounded foreign to her and he continued to speak of his family. Perhaps he was shy about his origins? "Tell me about the vineyard. My mother used to own some," She said, a confession about more concerning her own family. It was either now owned by Flavia, Tiberius, or herself now. Any assets she did own were owned were now managed by the elder members of her family.
  16. Claudia inclined her head slowly in response. She could have sworn he was flexing his muscles, how much was he trying to impress her? Perhaps she had been looking a little too much. He was handsome, soldierly, and she strongly doubted that he oiled his hair. There was no smile in return for her either. He was all business with her, and that was a mixed bag. Professional. How much would she be able to influence him was still to be decided. "I am pleased to have you in my service," She answered, thus fare there had been no attempts on her life. Yet only the Gods knew what the future held. Claudia knew there were clear advantages for him to take this position. The increased pay, home, ability to reside in the city of Rome, and the prestige was considerable. Claudia paused to listen to him when he offered to answer of the questions that she may have. It was always a curiousity to speak to someone who had lived a vastly different life to her. What had his soldier's life had been like? "We will," She answered, not that her dislike of having a guard was shown on her face. It was not his fault directly anyway. Claudia smiled pleasantly before she continued. "Perhaps you could tell me more about your home life and about where you served in the army?" Claudia offered as both starting points. She pondered whether or not she should invite him to sit. Technically, he was on duty at the moment and it was important for him to remain focused on his task. Yet.. some familiarity could be helpful. "Water? Wine?" She offered with a smile and a bit of a giggle about the latter. Not that drunkenness would be tolerated from a member of the praetorian guard, especially her own. "In all seriousness, I hope your time guarding me is not too unpleasant for you." Claudia added, waited and wondered how much he would tell her, if anything, while the slave offered him some water or wine. Decimus Rutilius Atellus
  17. She was not happy. However, her face did not show it and instead would show mild curiosity. It was important for her to remain protected and safe, she understood this. Yet why did she need to be assigned her own bodyguard? Why could she not select her own to be trustworthy? Her mother had selected her own to ensure her safety, and even at one time had her own private forces to protect herself. There were many people who would wish to buy his loyalty, and his discretion. Claudia was well-versed enough to know that guards were normal, and that she ultimately had little choice in the matter. All she could do was see what kind of a man he was. Drusilla's influence meant her brother-in-law had less sway over her living quarters, and it allowed her to have peace away from him. She had begun to feel safer, and had been encouraged to decorate the rooms however she chose. Something she was incredibly grateful for. The girl was beginning to transform from the girl into the woman. She would need to take her place in Roman society. Her father was a Caesar, now her uncle, and she wished to honour the memory of her mother along with making Drusilla proud. Claudia was seated. The rooms had differing areas for entertaining guests, a bedroom itself, and an atrium. Her hair was coiled, a necklace and bracelets around her wrists. Otherwise, her chiton was otherwise plain as this was her home and she was not currently on display. Her cosmetics were minimal. One of her slaves entered, "Domina, the praetorian is here to see you," Arria said, then saw her Domina's nod of agreement and walked to fetch him. She invited him into the room and presented him. "This is Decimus Rutilius Atellus, the praetorian sent to you by Caesar," Arria presented him and returned back to her position on the wall. Claudia paused and looked him over. He was soldierly, young, and his tunica was on the longer side. Now she needed to see what his character would be like. "Salve praetorian, I take it you are the one entrusted to protect me as a bodyguard?" She asked, smiled and waited to see what he would say. Decimus Rutilius Atellus
  18. A day after our previous thread. It may have been a tad overbearing. Yet, he remembered what it was like to feel that he had no friends in Rome. Admittedly, Decimus was not going to be killed in the Harena in a gladiatorial combat as a prisoner of war. Still, it did not hurt to be polite. Food had been prepared for the occasion. Naturally, Alaricus was asking a million questions about their guest, and wanted to know everything about him. There was always a chance that the rest of the family would come by, and in a way, Alaric was counting on it. The hour soon approached and his guest would be arriving soon. Food and drink had been prepared, all that was needed now was for Decimus to arrive. Alaricus was roaring to himself and swinging the wooden sword around. Fortunately, none of the lamps were lit. Naturally, he accidently hit one. "Alaricus! Behave, take your wooden sword and play outside," Alaric said. His son nodded, grinned cheekily and hurried out. Alaric watched him and wondered where he got his energy from, and how much like him his eldest son was like him during his youth. He smiled, happy at the memory and at the present. He noticed someone standing in his peripheral vision. He saw Frontus. "Dominus, there is a man called Decimus Rutilius Atellus here to see you. I told him to wait in the Atrium for you," Frontus said, waited for a nod from Alaric and went outside again to tend to the horses, and to play with wooden swords with Alaricus. Alaric walked into the atrium and extended his hand to Decimus. "Welcome, welcome, I hope it was no trouble finding the place?"Decimus Rutilius Atellus
  19. Corinthia smiled and at first stiffened when Lucius answered her. Was he mocking her? She smiled, giggled and hoped the latter part was not a hint at her doing anything else. The only way her legs would part would be for marriage -- and the status and wealth that came with it. "Lucius it is then," She answered, sipped her wine and gazed at him over the expensive goblet with her dark eyes. Completely unaware of the bet. Now this was a mixed bag. She was unsure what the 'proper' answer was. Corinthia disliked how her mother was obsessed with her villa in the privacy of the country and yet, the city was where the people of Rome were. The same annoying people who were known for how fickle they were. She gave a small shrug, lowered the goblet and saw out of the corner of her eye. Her mother was still watching her -- while stuffing her face was some time of sweet. Corinthia exhaled irritably and focused on Lucius. "Both have charm," She answered, neutrally. "There is something special about the city itself, and the villas can get quite large. We," She continued, naturally claimed her mother's assets as her own. "also have a villa in Greece. Have you spent much time there?" Corinthia asked, added in the family wealth and unfortunately could not drop any names in. Silently she hoped that he would not think about how her mother was originally from Greece, and the situation of her marriage would be brought up. Lucius Junius Silanus
  20. She wondered what it was that Lucius kept glancing towards. Her gaze followed his, there was Longinus accompanied by three beautiful women and she wondered which one he would stare at. Corinthia was completely unaware of the bet that had been made, unsure about what would eventually happen and that was part of the excitement. Her browline narrowed briefly in frustration yet this could be a chance for her. If she could marry well... perhaps she would lose the stain of her father? He was so, so close to the Imperial throne. "Oh yes, of course," She smiled and let out a courtier's laugh. Her insecurity at times blinded her to her paternal familial connections she retained. Manius nearly became Caesar. He was so, so close. Corinthia sipped her wine and listened when he asked where she lived. Perhaps he wished to visit her sometime? "We have a home in the city itself," She began, in a not so subtle way of reminding him that her family had wealth. "Yet the villa just outside Rome is where I reside. And yes, you may call me Corinthia." She answered sweetly, now she had to return the favour. "And what about you? May I call your Lucius or would you prefer something more formal?" Lucius Junius Silanus
  21. Corinthia smiled politely and remembered that a woman was supposed to be helpful, right? She took (near yanked!) the cloth from Lucius' hand after he had begun to do the same, and began to use it to clean the wine from his toga. Mostly he had been the one to dry it. "Apologies," She said, the word was foreign and rarely used by her tongue. "Let me make it up to you," Corinthia continued, as soon as she was done, the cloth was soon handed back on the slave's platter. Her dark eyes focused on Lucius' own. She did not often indulge in wine. While Corinthia often said it was because she did not wish to be like her mother, in truth, the liquid soon had her head swimming. Still, it would not do for her not to make a show of it. "Yes, a drink would certainly help," She said, raised her hand and soon a fresh goblet was in her hand with another being presented to him. "I must admit that it brought some colour to your otherwise 'plain' toga," Corinthia continued, the only signs of jest being a slight twitch to the side of her lips and her eyes narrowed. She knew it was costly to have such a white shade. "Now, what it is that we were speaking about?" Corinthia asked. It had been about his connections. While she knew, it did not hurt to see who he would bring up -- or if he would remember. Lucius Junius Silanus
  22. If this had of gone as they should. She would have been a princess of Rome. Corinthia glared up at them, realised where she was and softened her facial expressions. She forced herself to smile and unfortunately it did not quite reach her eyes. Her eyes lit up at the name. The Junii-Silanii. At one point, a member of their family could have become the wife of Junus, and while they had endured a lot. They remained an ancient and prominent family. "Well, you are certainly well-connected," She praised him, she whispered politely and her gaze lingered on the Imperial family. If only she had a way to rise to their position. Power, prestige, and the ability to strike at those people who dared to hurt her. Corinthia gave him a slow, sideward glance and gave him a genuine smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Lucius." She answered. A slave walked past with many goblets on a platter and she lifted one. Unfortunately, she accidentally knocked one off that managed to spill the wine on Lucius' toga. Her eyes widened in surprise, her long fingers rubbed the stain and clicked her fingers at the slave. "Cloth! Something to dry him!" She hissed under her breath, then turned to Lucius, her cheeks flushed. "Pardon, I did not mean to." Lucius Junius Silanus
  23. Octavius watched as his son pick up some of the sweets while he spoke with his cousins. He smiled, reached down to give Valeria's hand a loving squeeze and nodded in agreement. Later, he would have a stomach ache to deal with and soon, he hoped, he would grow out of it. Octavius did not have the same worries that Valeria had concerning their children growing up. All he hoped was for them to have good fortunes and make virtuous decisions in life. "True, true, no doubt he will be complaining in the litter on the way home. Actually, I should tell him it is unsoldierly to eat them." He grinned, winked at her and listened to her comment about their son's age. The arrival of Quintus, Drusilla, Titus, and Tiberius let him know an announcement would likely come. He gazed up at them, smiled and could not be happier for them. "It is," He answered, hoped that they would have a moment in private together later on. There was still a passion between the pair of them, a deep love that remained, even through the various trials of life. Octavius looked in the direction Valeria had guided him towards. Laelius and Pinaria. His youngest brother and his wife. "I do not think even the Gods could distract those two from each other." He whispered back, watched them and smiled down at Valeria. "They are both good for each other." Octavius added, pleased with how politics and the personal relationship between them had paid off. Valeria Maxima
  24. Juliana and Tiberius. Juliana smiled, jokingly paused and studied him again before she nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, it is even, and it is a good look on you." She added, it still felt strange to no longer be among the younger members of the family. It would not be long until Tiberius had completely grown so much over the past years. "You are welcome as always," Juliana answered, it would be pleasant to see him either here or another time at the villa. The children frequently asked about when they would go to Rome to visit the extended family. She thought of her husband in Britannia, an island she had no desire to ever step foot in again, and over time the pair of them had grown to love each other. "I will tell him to write to you sometime, and yes, feel free to come by. It is likely that we will be here for at least a week." She continued, slowly she glanced in the direction of the gathering members of the nobility, before it returned to Tiberius. It seemed out of the blue he asked about Junia. The ill-fated spouse of young Junus, who he himself had been lost to an assassin's blade. "No, not of late. She is supposed to be here with her family," She answered, the Junii-Silani were restored and naturally back in a position of importance. "I hope to see her sometime tonight." Juliana added, they had been close since Junia's marriage to Junus and hers, to Decimus. Juliana also heard the sound and turned her head to look. Her hand placed on his shoulder, as she felt the peck on her cheek and watched as he went to join the Imperial face. A speech of some kind was likely to follow.
